Who are we?

Elope in Hawaii a whole new elopement experience tailored to couples that want something more adventurous, it’s for lovers that want to immerse themselves in Hawaiian beauty, that want to elope and exchange vows at a cliffside location, in the deep of a tropical jungle, at a waterfall or one of Hawaii beaches that are off the beaten path. We are for couples that don’t mind getting a little dirty or do a little hike for that perfect location.

We are currently serving the Island of Maui and since you are probably from out of state we offer full planning to help make your destination elopement a stress free experience.

Rodrigo Moraes

Founder and owner of Elope in Hawaii. Rodrigo will be your point of contact throughout the whole planning process.

I’m originally from Brazil transplanted to Maui 17 years ago.

Cycling and surfing are my go to activities. I’m a craft beer lover. I don’t think anything beats watching the sunset on the beach with your people enjoying a pint. I’m vegan. I love to DJ in my free time.

Photography has been my passion for a long time and I kind of fell in the wedding industry by accident. After shooting a friends wedding for free and posting some photos more people started asking me to photograph their wedding and then their friend’s weddings and just snowballed from there. ‘m now super passionate about weddings striving to deliver photos as unique as your wedding story.

Weddings are very popular in Hawaii. But I started seeing a void in helping couples looking to elope here but away from the popular crowded beaches so I decided to create Elope in Hawaii to help couples plan their adventure elopements away from the beaten path and connecting them with the best vendors in the Maui wedding industry.

Michelle Moreland

Day of coordinator - Michelle will help with everything behind the scenes to create your dream elopement and be there from the start of your ceremony till the end of the photos.

Hi I’m Michelle, born and raised in Southern California. My love for adventure and travel brought me to Maui after a vacation turned into a permanent residency.  A decade later I am still exploring this island and finding new treasures.

I love staying active and taking full advantage of what island life has to offer. If that’s hiking inside Haleakala crater,  searching for waterfalls, camping in the jungle under the stars, snorkeling  the bay, or having a relaxing beach day with a good book. I love a good adventure, making memories with my family and friends is what life is all about.

When most couples still opt for a full wedding day. Elopements are an alternative to the big celebration making it about the people that matter the most - You two.

They have became quite popular and for a good reason. The pressure to create an event to hundreds of guests can be simply too much. These simple ceremonies are super powerful where you can be yourselves and share emotional vows since you won’t have an audience watching.

Your elopement can be just the two of you, or you can have a few family members along, or you can bring 20 of your closest friends and still call it an elopement if you choose.

We won't work with a party of over 25 people as that would get int wedding territory however we don’t differentiate pricing depending on how many people you have to celebrate with you. As long as the focus of the day is about the two of you, and you’re looking for a stress-free adventurous wedding experience we would love to help you plan and photograph your elopement.
